Dr. Louis Valencia resides and was born in San Francisco. Raised in Marin County the outdoor active lifestyle became a way of life, and at the young age of 16 he went to work as a fitness trainer to help others achieve their health/fitness goals, and has continued to do so since 1984.

In his zeal toward health he wanted to provide more than just fitness and nutrition advice to his clients, so he decided to expand his skill set to offer chiropractic sports care, physiologic therapeutics, active rehabilitation, functional training, ergonomics, and occupational health promotion. He has been providing such services in San Francisco since 1994.

His patients, personal training clients, and corporate clientele learn how to maintain their active lifestyles and age gracefully sparing their soft tissues and joints in a safe, fun, and efficient manner to achieve optimal results.

While relief of symptoms is always a reason health care consumers seek health care advice, modern scientific evidence indicates that the cause of most pain is functional in nature. This is why a functional diagnosis is made and care is customized to an individual’s goals, needs, and/or the examination findings. Our health care practice is a comprehensive and therapeutic approach to managing injuries and illnesses. The three aspects of our conservative treatment of locomotor system disorders are advice, manipulation, and exercise. They constitute a continuum of care, which has its goal the reassurance, reactivation, and return to your prior functional status.

Functional sources of pain include decreased activity tolerance and decreased fitness, which is why Dr. Valencia emphasizes helping his patients and clients increase their activity tolerance when suffering from acute and chronic neuromusculoskeletal conditions, as well as teaching self-care skills for controlling and coping with recurrent or chronic conditions of the spine, pelvis, extremities, and soft tissues of the body. In addition, focusing on increasing fitness as a rehabilitation and preventative tool, and increasing performance capacity for all levels of athletes, including the ‘occupational athlete’ which those who work are!
